Students are responsible for arranging their own flights and transport to and from the Stanford campus. Transit from San Francisco airport to Stanford takes about 50 minutes by shuttle bus or taxi. We can arrange for you to be met at the airport, by a separate private company, subject to an additional charge and prior booking. You will be expected to arrive on campus on the first Sunday of the program between 11am and 4pm in time for our first dinner at 5.30pm.
Once you have registered do please try to book flights as early as possible to avoid being late for your arrival on campus. If your plane is arriving later than this time you should let us know. San Francisco Airport is easy to get to from most international and national locations. Full details on how and when to reach the campus and shuttle service telephone numbers can be found on the FAQ’s page and will be available in greater detail on the log in page on Club ISC registered students have access to on the website.
There are Visa Waiver Programs in 27 countries and since 12 January 2009 all persons who would normally travel to the USA without a visa on the Visa Waiver Program will require an approved electronic travel authorisation prior to boarding their flight to the USA. The system has changed recently so please check with your US embassy.
The system is called Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA).To apply for an electronic travel authorisation log on the ESTA website and complete an application online providing biographical and visa eligibility information. Students from non-VWP countries will need a B2 Tourist visa to enter the USA. However, the system changes frequently so please check with your US embassy. Students and families are responsible for obtaining their own visas if they are required and this summer program does NOT require a student visa and ISC is not able to support applications for student visas.
